PREFACE
I have often thought about writing a book about insurance. Over the years I have had literally thousands of clients and virtually all share one commonality: none really understand how insurance works (at least when we meet) and none (for the most part) have cared (at least until they have a claim). But where to begin a book? Where to end? To fully understand all aspects of insurance would be more than one person could fathom, let alone explain or write about, in any sense of order that would be easily accessed or retrievable.
Enter the wonderful world of the internet. Through the internet we can focus on those subjects that are important to the reader without endless searching through hardcopy indices or glossaries. This portion of our website is dedicated to providing information to people that wish to understand more about insurance and risk management techniques that affect or interest them personally, without having to go through chapters and chapters of information that are, in a word, boring. The "easy links" on the left hand side of the page will allow you to "drill-down" to your specific area of interest. As this website will be a work-in-progress, some links and/or areas of interest may not be addressed at the onset. If you have a particular area of interest that has not yet been inlcuded, please feel free to e-mail info@gwaltneyassoc.com and I will do my best to research and address your issues and/or needs next. At the very least I may be able to provide you another resource for immediate gratification.
Most people purchase insurance because someone (bank or government) told them they have too, or for fear that they will lose something valuable or precious to them. My greatest career goal has been to help my clients understand insurance so that they know why they purchase any given insurance product, and as importantly (in some cases) why they shouldn't.
